Honestlly, I was about to post the same picture Barry did. Good thing I checked. The only pictures I took was a whole stream of her blowing out her candles. There was just so much partying to do. It was wonderful. I couldn't imagine any more fun. Oliver and she were dancing around to Hallmark cards that play "Word Up" and "Wang Chung." Technology is amazing. And there were Curious George plates filled with cupcakes, and girl scout cookies and Chik-fil-A nuggets for all! Mostly, though, I am just thankful to have such awesome friends and family who make a fantastic time happen anywhere.

I have decided to designate ye olde blogger site to the Barry crap and make another attempt at keeping Chattababy about a baby or family or something other than just myself. This is my explanation for some of the content you may have read, having been deleted. The egomaniacal content that remains is there because you were kind enough to leave comments and those would not fair the transition well if at all. I treasure your comments...and so they stay. TGIF!

In an attempt to divulge more personal info to you the blogreader I have swiped this survey from A New Day and personalized it. Although I cannot promise that it will be interesting, I can say it is fairly honest. I say "fairly" honest because alot of this stuff happened a very long time ago and my recollection is suspect at the ripe old age of 31.

Today at the lunch table I accidentally burped and immediately said "excuse me." Well, for the rest of the meal, Sarah kept pushing on her neck and saying "erp." But it was always followed by a cute little "excuse me." So I was just teaching her some manners, right?
Meanwhile, the girl is still fighting some sort of cold from last week. With the way our weather has been behaving it is no wonder the poor thing is sick. And for some reason her humidifier does not work in our new fancy "up-to-code" electrical outlets, so maybe I will have to go back to Target and actually buy the cute humidifier shaped like a penguin that I keep putting in my cart yet taking out again because it feels so frivolous to buy an appliance shaped like a cute arctic bird.
We've got a birthday party to put on Saturday and a hundred of things to do until then. Which leads to the age-old question: To bake or buy the birthday cake? As usual I'm totally "bake" today, Sunday, but we'll see what happens by Friday.

Sarah got her first taste of snow Sunday before the sun came out and melted it all. But it was fun while it lasted, and Barry took a lot of great pictures. If it's gonna be cold, it might as well snow. And now, three days later, we're out running around without jackets on again. (Well, Sarah was wearing an awesome vest she got last night at our Valentine party.) I think we're even going to the park today!

NPR reports that Gen-Xers overwhelmingly picked Peter Gabriel's "In Your Eyes" as their favorite love song. Am I the only one that is shocked by this. There are some noteworthy songs listed such as, God only knows by the Beach Boys. I put this song on a mixed tape I made for Megan when we first started hanging out. A bit presumptuous of me wasn't it?
Megan made a tape for me as well. It was brilliant. Where is my mind? by The Pixies stood out as the watershed track and was soon agreed upon to be "our song".
In my estimation, this is our 6th Valentine's Day and Oh! what a soundtrack we have built over the years. Some good, (My Morning Jacket, Al Green, Beasties) and some questionable (INXS, Black Street, Toad the Wet Sprocket).
I am convinced that in the future, Cemeteries will be replaced with sanctuaries filled with looping 3-D holograms of the deceased, reenacting the event that best defined them. I discussed this with a co-worker and he decided he'd be rolling sevens at a craps table which I think would be fun for a few hours...maybe a few days. There are alot of moments in my life that i would love to go back and live again but if I am lucky enough to have my choice, I would spend eternity on a small dance floor with Megan's head on my shoulder swaying to this song.
