I have discovered something amazing. Sarah has a favorite color. GREEN. And it has been green for over a month now. I kept thinking she would change it depending on her shirt, the book we're reading, the car driving past us. But no. It became official when Sarah created a tiny little "About Sarah" book at school. It had a picture she drew of her "family," a photo of Sarah taken by one of her teachers and a page listing Sarah's favorite food: peanut butter sandwiches, favorite toy: blocks, and favorite color: green. Blocks? We don't play with blocks. And peanut buttter sandwiches? She only eats them because they're what I pack for every school lunch, and she certainly doesn't beg for them at home. So, needless to say I wasn't convinced green was going to stick. But it has. She talks about green and how much she loves it, and when she sees something outrageously green, she gets loud and exclaims about "Wow. That's my favorite color right there."
I'm so in love with all this green because it is so uniquely her. I don't care a flip about green. My favorite's gray, and Sarah knows that. I love that I didn't influence this. Green is all hers.
